It is the 20th of October 2011, and Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is captured and killed in Sirte. The Libyans have ended a fourty-two yesr long era of dictatorship and terror. But freedom didn´t come for free, During the eight months of fighting it is estimetd that more than 20.000 libyans were killed and even more wounded. To estimate the damage done and lives wasted during the four decades of Gaddafi´s dictatorship is beyond understanding. Four months earlier, in june 2011, I closely witnessed the fighting in Misratah, smelled the blood and saw the destruction of humanity. "Alley by alley, house by house" is a story about the Misratans, the western front in Dafnia and their struggle towards freedom, captured through the lend of my camera.
